Jefferson City is the Capitol of Missouri and
the County Seat for Cole County. Most of Jefferson City is in Cole county but a small Northern section of the city in Callaway County. It is situated on the Northern edge of the Ozark Plateau and is known as Mid-Missouri, sitting roughly midway between Kansas City to the West and St. Louis to the East. Jefferson City was founded in 1821 and named after our 3rd President, Thomas Jefferson. |
